Oog voor detail, sporen, herinnering en het vergetene en verborgene zichtbaar maken, zijn belangrijke gegevens en fascinaties in het werk van Brigitte de Langen. Ze onderzoekt en zoomt in op haar onderwerp. Vaak focust ze op ogenschijnlijk onbelangrijke zaken en zet deze in het licht, hiermee reageert ze op het vluchtige en individualistische van deze tijd, waarin veel tegelijk gebeurt en daadwerkelijke aandacht voor omgeving vaak ontbreekt. Haar beelden zijn traag en esthetisch maar voor wie verder kijkt ook intens, intiem en confronterend. Als medium gebruikt De Langen vaak fotografie niet zelden gecombineerd met iets anders.

The work of Brigitte de Langen is quiet, tactile and aesthetic and at the same time confrontational and intriguing. She investigates, zooms in on her subject, shows details, (collective) memories and traces. With her work De Langen tries to make the unseen and the forgotten seen, she often focusses on seemingly minor matters which she uses to create awareness for a bigger story. This way she reacts on the fleeting and individualistic time we live in now, in which often many things happen at the same time and lack a genuine awareness for our surroundings and vicinity. The medium is often photography, but not always, whatever serves the project best.
